Quadrant Consulting, Inc., based in Boise, Idaho, provides the Idaho Department of Fish and Game with topographic surveys for remote sites in the Upper Salmon River Basin.

Early one morning in May 2004, when Nick Kraus and Steve Sweet, the QCI field crew, showed up to survey part of Jerry Hawkins' ranch, Jerry (gun) and his neighbor, Delbert Hughes (rod) offered to trade places for a day with the crew. At the end of the day, in Jerry's words, "The only difference between Delbert & me surveying and you boys trying to tend my cattle is that Delbert & me have the BS on the outside of our boots." Delbert and Jerry have returned to what they do best, while Nick and Steve completed their current assignment on Morgan Creek.
