Working with Survey Data in ArcGIS

Join Mike Wier and ESRI at 9 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, or 4 PM Pacific (12 Noon, 2 PM, 5 PM, or 7 PM Eastern) when it presents a free 60-minute Live Training Seminar.

This seminar is for GIS managers, engineers, surveyors, or GIS technicians who need to integrate survey and GIS data. A basic knowledge of ArcMap is recommended, but not required.

The presenter will discuss: managing survey data in ArcCatalog; computing and adjusting survey measurements to determine GIS coordinates; mapping survey data in ArcGIS; and editing GIS features based on survey measurements.

This seminar examines the ArcGIS 8.3 Survey Analyst tools used to load survey data into geodatabases, and teaches how to resolve survey measurements into GIS coordinates. Participants learn how survey data is managed in ArcCatalog, computed and adjusted in ArcMap, then used to edit geodatabase features. Finally, the benefits of integrating survey and GIS data are discussed.Seminar concepts are presented using a workflow scenario with accompanying software demonstrations.
