The January implementation links the GIS, with permits issued by the Zoning, Building Inspections, and Environmental Health Departments. Initially, Land Development Office will be used daily by more than a dozen County employees to manage its 35,000 parcels. Armstrong says that the scalability of the product was a major selling point, and the County is considering expanding the implementation to include a Web interface and NovaLIS Assessment Office.
Richmond County already had a strong relationship with Concord Engineering before the NovaLIS implementation, and the three departments developed a successful partnership during the implementation.
