At the annual International Highway Engineers Exchange Program's (HEEP) Conference in Lincoln, Nebraska, held Sept. 13 through Sept. 16, Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions is demonstrating its broad array of open, geospatial solutions that feature industry-specific functionality to support the design and maintenance of transportation infrastructure, such as highways and bridges. Conference attendees can experience immediate access and display of thousands of image files within any CAD or GIS environment. Users can see how leading state agencies are using Web portals to review and analyze assets, deploy CAD and GIS files via the Web and even track traffic and evacuations as natural disasters are occurring. In addition, attendees can view how dozens of Departments of Transportation (DOTs) model their road networks for capital improvement planning and analysis. These solutions for streamlining the access and use of geospatial data enterprisewide are on display in the Intergraph booths (31 & 38).

The latest advances in technology highlighted at the show include new distributed processing functionality available with the Z/I Imaging TerraShare image management and distribution product that boosts the speed and reliability of intense image processing. TerraShare is an increasingly popular choice of DOTs for meeting image management requirements across an enterprise, regardless of disparate software and hardware platforms. Installations of TerraShare at DOTs have significantly increased over the past year.
