The U.S. Department of Transportation named its first intern for a new program designed to foster the education and career opportunities of promising graduate students. Monica Gil, a doctoral student in industrial and organizational psychology at the University of Connecticut, is the first recipient of the John A. Volpe Transportation Internship. Gil will receive tuition assistance for her graduate studies and will work for up to two years at the Volpe Center to continue her research on the driving habits so young people.
