Section 2015.A. of the Rules of the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board outlines the record keeping requirements for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). One requirement is that the renewal invoice will “contain a signature by the licensee certifying that the registrant has met all requirements for registration renewal, including CPD requirements. Beginning in January 2001, any renewal that does not include this signed certification will be rejected. If a license expires before the surveyor has submitted the certification, the surveyor will not be allowed to practice engineering or land surveying. During the transition into CPD the Board has not rejected renewal payments that did not include the signed certification on the reverse side of the invoice stub. All renewals submitted to the Board after January 1, 2001 must contain the signed certification of eligibility. All unsigned renewals will be rejected. More information can be found at the Board’s website at www.lapels.com.
