Juniper Systems’ new Mesa 3 Rugged Tablet represents the company’s most advanced rugged handheld to date, according to the company. The Mesa 3 Rugged Tablet offers new functionality while retaining features from the Mesa 2 Rugged Tablet. Its quad-core processor is ready to run even the most demanding field data collection application, while its ergonomic design is ready to handle a long day on the job in a harsh environment.
The Mesa 2 is still available and continues to be a strong option for organizations and individuals whose computing tasks don’t require the extra processing power the Mesa 3 provides.
Powered by Windows 10, the Mesa 3 offers a familiar interface with the portability and flexibility needed for mobile data collection. Running Windows 10 also allows users to have a large selection of new applications, data collection software, office suites, and older legacy software.
At the heart of the Mesa 3 is a new quad-core Intel Pentium processor. The processor, the Pentium N4200, represents a significant shift in computing power and allows the Mesa 3 to perform CPU-intensive tasks in the office and in the field. The device also supports Intel HD Graphics.
The Mesa 3 is rated IP68, making it waterproof and dustproof. It is also designed to stand up to MIL-STD-810G test procedures. This includes drop, shock, altitude pressure, high and low temperatures, and various other stress tests.
