The USGIF Awards Program annually recognizes the exceptional work of the GEOINT tradecraft’s brightest minds and innovative organizations.  Categories include achievement in academia, community support, government, industry, and military.

Previous USGIF award winners represent the multi-faceted GEOINT Community, and their work has embodied USGIF’s three pillars:  Build the Community; Advance the Tradecraft; Accelerate Innovation.

Individuals and organizations engaged in GEOINT-related fields including nontraditional technologies and capabilities—whether in social media, open source, Big Data, Internet of Things, data analytics, ISR, mobile, virtual and augmented reality, or others—are encouraged to apply.

The Industry award recognizes an individual or a team at a company that has made an outstanding achievement building, deploying, implementing, managing, or utilizing geospatial intelligence services, solutions, and technologies.  Whether a large systems integrator, a midsize corporation, a small business, or a startup, all are encouraged to apply and gain recognition for their GEOINT work.

The award for academic achievement recognizes an individual, research project, academic program, or department that has made great strides in geospatial intelligence or a related field.  Individuals or programs at the K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels are all encouraged to apply.  New breakthroughs in projects or programs, research and development, academic achievement, and published writing are some of the many eligible examples of work to nominate for this award category.

The USGIF Community Support Award recognizes an individual or team for outstanding staff, contract, proposal administrative, or program management support.  Project managers, executive assistants, proposal managers, contracts managers, and support staff from government, military, or industry can and should be recognized for their critical work.

Applications are due no later than Feb. 6, 2020.  Recipients will be presented their award on the main stage at the general session at the GEOINT 2020 Symposium, April 26-29, 2020 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.
