Descartes Labs ran live demonstrations highlighting use cases relevant to the defense and intelligence community at the 2019 GEOINT Symposium held in San Antonio, Texas.

The Descartes Labs Data Refinery is a scalable platform built on a cloud-based supercomputer that leverages deep learning and computer vision to process massive volumes of satellite imagery and other complex data to generate actionable intelligence.  Already containing petabytes of ESA Sentinel, NASA Landsat, and Airbus Pléiades satellite data, Descartes Labs delivers a living digital twin of planet Earth, which is continuously updated with new information from commercially available data sources and customer-supplied inputs, the company says.

DARPA has selected Descartes Labs to participate in its Geospatial Cloud Analytics Program.
