Paracosm’s PX-80 portable scanner claims a 100-meter range, zero setup, and accuracy to ±2-3 cm. Its maximum frame rate is 50 fps, ~320 M pixels/s and coverage is 250 deg x 360 deg. Acquisition is 300,000 pts/sec. The system includes the PX-80 handheld LiDAR scanner, hard shell protective carrying case, Apple iPad Mini 4, protective iPad case and pole mount, extension pole, PX-80 Capture (scanning app for iOS), beta access to Retrace (spherical image viewer for Windows), and carries a one-year hardware warranty and software maintenance package. The PX-80 does not currently have built-in GPS. It uses Paracosm’s proprietary SLAM technology, which the company says is a fusion of LiDAR, color imagery and inertial measurement unit (IMU) data. Each point cloud is not associated with any coordinate system. To position a scan within a project, use site control to add real-world coordinates.
