The Vexcel UltraCam Eagle is available with four different focal lengths: 80, 100, 210 and 120 millimeters. This makes the large-format camera system useful in a variety of applications, from lower-altitude engineering applications to high-altitude orthophotography projects. The photogrammetric digital aerial sensor features a user-exchangeable lens system.

From lower-altitude engineering applications to high-altitude orthophotography projects, users can exchange lens systems based on their project needs. Lens kits of four different focal lenghts allow customers to take full advantage of the entire camera footprint of more than 23,000 pixels across the flight strip at different altitudes. The UltraCam Eagle Mark 2 helps minimize unwanted noise in shadowy areas of images through a signal-to-noise ratio made possible by the latest generation of custom CCD imaging sensors. The sensors feature an optimized full-well capacity.

The UltraCam Eagle sensor can capture 10 centimeter GSD at 4,000 meters above the ground. With a maximum frame rate of one frame per 1.65 seconds, the sensor can capture 2 centimeter GSD with an overlap of 60 percent flying at 130 knots.

All third generation UltraCam camera systems are fully supported in the UltraMap workflow software system. The ability to perform aerial triangulation and dense matching allows for the creation of high-accuracy point clouds, digital surface models (DSMs), digital terrain models (DTMs), DSM orthos (true orthos) and DTM orthos (traditional orthos). The cameras are also compatible with the UltraNav direct georeferencing and flight management system.
