A number of geospatial hardware and software solutions stole the spotlight at HxGN 2017 in Las Vegas. Leica Cyclone was one of them. The family of point cloud processing software is not new, but recent upgrades focus on enhancing speed and simplicity for users.

In an on-camera interview, Faheem Khan, a surveyor by training and member of the Leica Geosystems geomatics division, speaks about the latest generation of Cyclone and its relevance to geospatial professionals.

“This could be topographic mapping, this could be volumetric survey. It could be engineering models. So the technology lends itself to serve different market segments,” Khan says.
