AXIS GeoAviation announces New Operations Coordinator
New coordinator position oversees aerial missions
AXIS GeoAviation LLC has announced the appointment of Andrew Camela as operations coordinator. Camela will be managing sensor operators for aerial missions in the new position within the flight department.
“Andy brings an enormous amount of LiDAR technology experience to the team, which was obtained while working for various DoD and commercial venues. He has worked with international governments and other government entities. This attention to detail and focus to quality are the same work ethics he now brings to our clients,” says Dean Toth, director of operations for AXIS GeoAviation.
Camela brings more than three years of experience in geospatial analysis and data acquisition operations to AXIS. Most recently, he served as geospatial analyst at Leidos, where he was responsible for processing GPS/IMU, LiDAR and EO sensor data from a raw format to final products, and dissemination in support of the Army Buckeye program in both CONUS and OCONUS locations
He received his bachelor’s degree in geography from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
A retiree from the U.S. Army, Camela had tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
