Teledyne Optech is rolling out a new mobile mapping system, the  Maverick. Light enough to be worn on a backpack, the Maverick sets a high bar for size, portability and versatility in mobile asset mapping.

“With the Maverick, our goal is to make asset data accessible and extremely easy to collect and distribute,” says Albert Iavarone, business unit manager at Teledyne Optech. “The Maverick is an amazing little device. It can be mounted on a variety of platforms including a backpack or Segway, and its low power requirement means that you can power it from a vehicle’s cigarette lighter or with the optional battery pack.”

Weighing in at less than 9 kilograms, the Maverick integrates a LiDAR, a 360-degree camera, and an INS into a small form factor that is easy to install.

“Wireless connectivity means that there are no wires on the system at all,” Iavarone says. “Executing a mobile asset data collect is now as easy as checking the sensor/universal mount as baggage at the airport, catching your flight, and using your rental car to start collection minutes after you land. Operationally it’s a game changer. With all of that plus a great price, we are very excited.”

System deliveries are available immediately.
