Autodesk partnered with 3D Robotics to fly UAVs at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colo. in April during SPAR International 2014. Images captured by the UAVs were processed using Autodesk ReCap 360. Watch the video and check out the resulting images.

The IRIS UAV flew two missions at the event: one that was manually controlled, and one that was autonomous. The IRIS can reach heights of up to 250 feet, and fly for 15 minutes at a time. Carrying a GoPro camera, the mission captured more than 100 images that were then loaded into Autodesk photo-to-3D web service, Photo on ReCap 360, to create a detailed phototextured 3D mesh that could then be used in various Autodesk software.
