Seafloor Systems has hired a new vice president to join its president, John Tamplin. Josh Grava, most recently sales manager of the North America region for RESON Teledyne Marine, will manage U.S. and international sales and rentals for all multi-beam hydrographic sonar systems.  

“This is an exciting venture to embark on with Seafloor Systems. John and I have been friends and colleagues for nearly 18 years,” Grava says. “The synergy is there and the time is right. I look forward to the growth our joining forces will bring, and to widening the footprint of our support network.” 

Josh joined RESON in 1997, straight from University of California Santa Barbara, as sales and marketing assistant. Within a year, he created a sales manager position for himself with RESON’s Transducer and Hydrophone product line, and through dedicated business development, steadily built that program up from $10,000 a year business to over $1million a year.

In 2004, he expanded his sales reach within RESON to include the SeaBat Multibeam systems. For the past 12 years with RESON (two years with Teledyne Marine), Josh has managed and grown SeaBat customer accounts in North America and established solid customer relations within the Multibeam community. 

“This will only strengthen how I can continue to support, expand, and grow the many long-standing relationships with customers and friends I have built and maintained through loyalty and dedication over the many years with RESON and Teledyne Marine,” he says.
