Gregory Keena, PLS, is a project surveyor for Tetra Tech’s office in Denver, Colo., and was the lead surveyor for the Iraq OCS project.
As team leader, Scott Nagel ensured his team’s well-being while in Iraq, made their travel arrangements and acted as a liaison with the individuals and agencies on site. Tetra Tech completed two more missions during the first part of 2007. The same team from this memoir returned to Iraq except for Scott Jeffers who was replaced by Robert Vesely, another Tetra Tech employee from the Framingham office.
When U.S. troops in Iraq fielded indirect fire on their bases, the military turned to the experts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to develop a solution for protecting high-density facilities. The Overhead Coverage System (OCS) was developed, tested and validated, and soon progressed to construction.
