May 1, 2014

Six test sites for unmanned aerial systems (drones) have been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration: the University of Alaska, the state of Nevada, New York's Griffiss International Airport, the University of North Dakota, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech University, according to abcnews.com.

"The purpose of the test sites is to provide the FAA with the data they need to develop the policies and procedures to be able to integrate drones or unmanned aircraft systems into the national air space," said Dr. Luis Cifuentes, according to ksat.com.
