January 22, 2009

DAYTON, Ohio - Eric Cole recently relocated from Woolpert’s office in Orlando, Fla., to Dayton, Ohio, to assume the role of manager for the firm’s photogrammetry group in Dayton. Cole brings more than 24 years of photogrammetry and GIS experience to the position.

Cole joined Woolpert in 2007 as manager of the firm’s Orlando photogrammetry group. He has extensive experience managing project work related to photogrammetry, LiDAR, orthophotography and stereo compilation while in the roles of GIS and mapping technician, project manager, department manager and director. He has overseen operations for project teams of more than 35 technicians while developing and managing QA/QC procedures to ensure that high-quality standards are met.

“Eric has been integral to the growth and success of our Orlando operations,” said Jeff Lovin, CP,  Woolpert vice president and photogrammetry and remote sensing director. “His expertise will be a great asset to the Dayton group as we continue to expand our services to meet the growing needs of our clients.”

Since joining Woolpert, Cole has overseen project managers and technical staff to successfully complete many projects including Florida’s Coastal Mapping Program, which involved collaboration with two other firms to collect 15,000 square miles of new LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data and create a surface model of Florida’s coastline. Cole is a member of the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) where he recently sat on the ASPRS Florida Region’s Board of Directors.
