LIVERMORE, CA -- Contractors today are doing more and more of their own layout tasks, needing sophisticated construction layout and grade checking tools that are both powerful and easy to use. Topcon delivers the technology needed by busy contractors in a newly developed software solution, Pocket Layout.

"Pocket Layout is designed to provide the contractor with a construction site software system to seamlessly guide them through staking, topo, and grade control tasks," said Murray Lodge, director of sales – construction.

“Pocket Layout was developed by contractors for contractors looking for powerful performance in a simple, straightforward design,” Lodge said. "Even those new to layout will find that Pocket Layout provides them with information, displayed simply and clearly, to guide them through the steps necessary to complete restaking, topo, grade checking, and as-built chores quickly, easily, and accurately."

With Pocket Layout's "easy user interface, the contractor can be self-sufficient in layout and basic measurement tasks like never before. The contractor can input his blueprint dimensions in the office, either manually or electronically, for use in the field later. Re-establishment of lost or moved stakes can be made easily,” Lodge said.

Pocket Layout is compatible with Topcon's popular FC-200 series field controllers.  And, Pocket Layout interfaces with any Topcon total station.  Its simple COGO, layout, tape dimension, and reference line functions store and use multiple layouts, supporting robots and traditional total stations.
