LAND INFO Announces Limited-time Offer

September 20, 2006
Free Road Extraction to Buyers of CitySphere™ Imagery of Non-U.S. Cities

Denver, Colo. -- 19 September 2006 -- To increase awareness of its feature extraction services, LAND INFO Worldwide Mapping, LLC is offering a promotion through the end of December 2006: any U.S.-based customer that buys from LAND INFO a DigitalGlobe® CitySphere™ product will receive a free set of road vectors extracted from this highly-accurate off-the-shelf QuickBird imagery. Promotion applies only to cities outside the U.S.

The CitySphere™ series from DigitalGlobe features orthorectified 60-cm (2-foot) color imagery of 200 of the largest cities worldwide, 146 of them outside the U.S. The majority of the imagery was processed using GPS ground control; the resulting high accuracy of 2.5 m (8 feet) is very appropriate for a range of applications in urban areas.

Michael McCarthy, Senior Director of Business Development at DigitalGlobe, said "Vectors that match our CitySphere product complement the imagery and increase its value for an extensive range of mapping and GIS applications." He added, "LAND INFO is a valued business partner and an outstanding resource for users that need to extract additional information from our QuickBird imagery."

LAND INFO offers a comprehensive array of worldwide data options, including digital topographic map data for over 150 countries and commercial satellite imagery. In addition to roads, other feature layers that can be extracted from high-resolution imagery include buildings, hydrology, vegetation and land-use.

"For many parts of the world vector feature extraction from high-res satellite imagery is the best option for base data that's detailed, accurate and up-to-date," said LAND INFO's President, Nick Hubing. "Our feature extraction services have been very well-received by clients that have used them, so this promotion is a natural way to increase awareness."

Markets served by LAND INFO include mapping and geographic information systems (GIS); wireless communications; asset tracking; emergency response planning and natural disaster recovery; infrastructure planning and management for electricity, natural gas, sewers, water distribution; urban planning and zoning administration; real estate; insurance; national security and defense; visualization and simulation; aviation; hydrology and water resource planning; civil and environmental engineering; land surveying; logistics and fleet management.
