Magnetic Manhole Lift System from U.S. Saws

June 1, 2006

U.S. Saws introduced the Magnetic Manhole Lift System, which is designed to to eliminate the use of pry bars and reduce injuries caused by the handling of heavy covers. The new lift system uses a locking mechanism created with a series of magnets to clamp onto a manhole cover without any special tools. The Magnetic Manhole Lift System can move manhole covers up to 36 inches in diameter with the 22-pound magnet, and an average person can achieve 400 pounds of pull-out force using the specially designed dolly. The dolly may be folded down for easy storage when not in use. Also available are a chain attachment for moving grates and 10-inch polyurethane filled tires for off-road applications.
