NIMA’s National Information Library Uses SGI Origin 2000 Server

SGI, Mountain View, Calif., announced that the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) uses SGITM Origin 2000 server technology to power its digital imagery archives, which are utilized by the U.S. Department of Defense and the intelligence community. NIMA’s National Information Library was launched in July 2000 and will eventually store five years of digital imagery as well as archive 25 million images.
