August 29, 2001
CAIS-Map provides law enforcement agencies in the United States and Canada with a solution for crime analysis and crim mapping.

The Alpha Group Center for Crime and Intelligence Analysis and Crime Analysis Associates released the Crime Analysis Information System Mapping application (CAIS-Map). CAIS-Map provides law enforcement agencies in the United States and Canada with a solution for crime analysis and crime mapping. It combines Crime Analysis Information System techniques with desktop mapping software, allowing law enforcement agencies to import crime data files from Microsoft Excel. Other features include the ability to geocode to more than six million addresses in the United States and Canada, create Hot Spot maps and Time Series maps. Using CAIS-Map, law enforcement agencies can create Drive-Time Zones, visualize data with pushpin maps, thematic maps and demographic data and import shape fields from other popular mapping applications. New territories/patrol areas can be automatically created and maps can be saved as HTML files for inclusion in websites.

Each copy of CAIS-Map is shipped with a fully licensed version of Microsoft’s MapPoint 2002. You can use MapPoint independently or directly through CAIS-Map. A full version of MapPoint, one year of technical support, and one year of CAIS-Map upgrades are currently available. Visit www.CrimeAnalysis .net for more information.
