RMSI Second Global Telecom Workshop a Success 05.19.2003

May 19, 2003
RMSI successfully organized its 2nd annual Global Telecom Workshop at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi. This workshop has been specially designed for RF planners, with the objective of enhancing their understanding of geo-data, for planning efficient telecom networks. The daylong workshop drew delegates from global telecom players such as Nokia, Siemens, Marconi and Nortel Networks from nine Indian cities. It also enabled delegates to draw better conclusions from available data, and identify the best possible data sets for their specific requirements.

RMSI's GIS specialists shared their experience and touched upon the areas where clients could gain from the use of geodata solutions. The keynote sessions comprised "Process for geodata creation", "A cost effective approach to 3D data requirement" and "GIS applications for network operators". The workshop was highly interactive, and delegates were satisfied with the quality of the workshop. A majority of the participants felt that RMSI should organize similar workshops more frequently in the near future.

The workshop is an initiative of RMSI's Client Management Program (CMP) that builds and maintains synergistic relations with RMSI's clients and partners. The need for the workshop arose from a series of planned interactions and feedback sessions with RMSI's telecom clients. Keeping in mind rapidly changing technologies, RMSI charts out the workshop's agenda every year, in consultation with its telecom clients.
