New Design, Engine Help John Deere Loader Deliver Best-in-Class Productivity 4.26.04

Recent enhancements to John Deere's 210LE landscape loader--including a new engine, a re-designed operator's station and body design changes--provide more power, improved serviceability and a more comfortable cab for the operator.

The new fuel-efficient Tier II emission-compliant 4.5 L Deere PowerTech engine (the same engine used in Deere backhoes) delivers more power than competitive machines, as well as providing low daily owning and operating costs. Oil change intervals have doubled to 500 hours, and vertical spin-on filters simplify fluid changes and additions. The machine's electronic control unit features a new diagnostic connector that allows service technicians to easily retrieve operating information and diagnose issues quickly. The 210LE features a four-speed torque-converter transmission, and mechanical front-wheel drive. A turbocharged engine is available with optional powershift transmission.

Cab enhancements include more leg room in the turned position and a re-designed loader linkage that is easier to use. An optional electrical package provides additional working and driving lights, a battery disconnect switch, and two outlets.

The suspension seat swivels 15 degrees to the right for extra visibility of rear tools. Three-point hitch controls are conveniently positioned and hydraulic response is consistent and quick. Low profile hood, compact forward console and two-post ROPS allow excellent all-around visibility. Transmission disconnect, automatic return-to-dig, bucket self-leveling, and float make an operator more efficient and help speed loading cycles.

Various design improvements make servicing the 210LE fast and easy. Its new sheet metal with two-position tilt hood provides quick ground-level access to engine and all daily service points. A re-designed battery box can be opened without tools. The 210LE continues to feature wet-disc brakes that are fully modulated and self-adjusting so they require no maintenance.

Several of the same drivetrain components and structures found in the John Deere 310G backhoe also are found in the 210LE. A one-piece, high-strength, unitized mainframe provides a solid working base while isolating components from shock-load stress. Mechanical front-wheel drive delivers extra traction for increased productivity with heavy loads or on marginal jobsites. Box-constructed high-tensile steel loader arms provide superior strength and durability, and an optimized lift-to-crowd match makes it easy to keep the bucket heaped. And, the 210LE continues to feature sealed axles, eliminating the front axle breather cleaning required by competitive tractors.
