GIS community to gain access to a powerful solution optimized to run on the HP platform.

ESRI, the world leader in geographic information system software, is porting ArcIMS and ArcSDE, for use with Oracle software, to Hewlett-Packard's HP-UX 11i operating system. Upon completion, the GIS community will have access to a powerful solution optimized to run on the HP platform.

ESRI's ArcIMS provides the foundation for disseminating high-end GIS and mapping services via the Internet. ArcIMS is the only software that enables users to integrate local data sources with Internet data sources for display, query and analysis in an easy-to-use Web browser.

ESRI's ArcSDE is a GIS gateway that facilitates managing spatial data in a database management system. Targeted for the business-to-business market, ArcSDE allows for the storage of spatial and tabular data in commercial DBMS products.

ArcIMS is ESRI's flagship GIS and mapping software for the Internet. ESRI plans the final release of ArcIMS on HP-UX version 11i later this year.

ArcSDE serves spatial data to the ArcGIS Desktop and through ArcIMS to the Internet as well as other applications. ESRI plans the final release of ArcSDE on HP-UX version 11i later this year.
