Field Radio Recommendations?

Posted by: GJH

We have been using Motorolla radios for over 15 years with pretty good success.  Use 5 watt units with remote mics.

However; lately like most things the quality has declined.  We have CP200 upgraded to UHF; but still get a bit of interference.  I know there are more radio users than years ago.  We work in Boston most of the time.

We also find that the radios just aren't lasting as long.

I don't mind spending $200-$300 each for good quality; after all a missed code, or misunderstood direction from a chief to the T man can be very costly if you screw something up.

What has been your experience?

Thanks
