The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) has initiated a process to develop a new strategic plan for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). According to the FGDC website, the strategy will include a set of goals and objectives for the continued and sustainable development of the NSDI and will be developed by working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders in the geospatial community.

FGDC said it will provide multiple opportunities for input and involvement in the development of the new strategic plan, including public meetings of the FGDC Coordination Group, FGDC Steering Committee, National Geospatial Advisory Committee, as well as special sessions at professional conferences and other opportunities.
