Traditional boundary, cadastral and topographic survey markets remained challenging in 2011, according to POB’s annual Salary & Benefits Study. Bucking a gradual downward trend in reported salaries were several high-tech areas, including building information modeling (BIM), historical documentation surveys, industrial plant optimization surveys, laser scanning/imaging, and accident investigation/forensics. Benefits remained fairly steady last year, with education as a notable exception--firms appear to be investing more heavily in the knowledge base of their workforce.

Conducted by BNP Media’s Market Research department, the 2012 study reveals a number of key trends in surveying and mapping and provides insights on how firms and individuals are dealing with changing markets and converging technologies. View the slideshow at the top of the article to see some highlights from the report.

Shouldn't the "field crew member" be listed at the bottom of the survey salaries? It looks like there is an error. Thanks.
