MoreThe National Geodetic Survey (NGS) welcomes real-time GNSS vendors, RTN operators, managers
and users to Memphis, Tenn., on May 29-30 to examine how local GNSS
augmentations interact with each other, with NGS, with the National Spatial Reference System
(NSRS) and with users, vendors and operators.
There are currently more than 100 GNSS real-time networks (RTN) operating in the United States. These RTN provide a valuable service and include a variety of operational formats, procedures and techniques. Situated between the CORS and the local practitioner, they offer cost-effective positioning for a wide variety of users. Due to their cost-saving potential, they are becoming the primary control basis for many local projects and applications.
The NGS network symposium will include invited and contributed presentations from federal and state agencies, RTN operators and RTN users. However, the emphasis will be on panel and interactive discussions among attendees and representatives from NGS.
