Survey Question For a Novice

I'm sure this is simple for a professional land surveyor

Posted by GB sacope07

I have the following coordinates:
From a point of beginning, run  North 41 degrees 08 minutes 18 seconds East a distance of 100 feet,
run thence South 48 degrees 44 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 15.71 feet,
run thence South 48 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds East  a distance of 100.59 feet,
run thence North 48 degrees 44 minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 4.56 feet to the point of beginning.

1.  Is this the same as looking at this from a number of degrees from North as 0 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds as the following:

From a point of beginning go 100 feet at an angle of 41 degrees 08 minutes 18 seconds.
Thence go 15.71 feet at an angle of 228 degrees 44 minutes 00 seconds.
Thence go 100.59 feet at an angle of 228 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds.
Thence go 4.56 feet at an angle of 48 degrees 44 minutes 00 seconds.

2.  Does the original surveyer language close back to the original point?  If it does, how many square feet are enclosed by the sides created by the coordinates?
