Rochester Hills, MI, April 16, 2012 - Spalding DeDecker Associates Inc. (SDA), a regional civil engineering, landscape architectural, and surveying firm, has named Maria Sedki, PE, vice president and municipal department manager.

Sedki received a bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering and a master of science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.  With 18 years of experience in the engineering industry, Sedki was promoted from municipal project manager to municipal department manager. Sedki holds Professional Engineering licenses in Michigan and Ohio.  She belongs to the Water Environmental Federation and the Michigan Water Environment Association, and is the president of the Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects. Sedki is an experienced project manager specializing in sewer system inspection, analysis, and design. Her design experience includes pump stations, sanitary and storm sewer systems, water mains, water master meters, PRVs, and booster stations, as well as many forms of manhole and sewer rehabilitation projects. During her career at SDA, Sedki has worked on multiple Flow Monitoring Studies, Infiltration and Inflow Studies, Sewer System Evaluation Surveys, and Corrective Action Programs.  She also has extensive experience in acquiring State and Federal Funding, including State Revolving Funds, for large local projects.

“Maria has all the tools to become a great department manager:  leadership, strong work ethic, technical expertise, and an ability to manage projects to a profit.  It’s exciting to me that Maria has worked her way up the ranks at SDA and has accepted this new challenge,” said Steve Benedettini, president of SDA.
