TORRANCE, Calif. – Altus Positioning Systems has appointed John Clark as the company’s new vice president of sales for North America.

In his new role, Clark will lead the development and implementation of all sales and marketing activities in North America to maximize company growth, profitability and penetration of new markets.

Prior to joining Altus, Clark was a managing partner at Geomatic Resources LLC. He held several positions at Leica Geosystems Inc, including vice president of sales for South Central USA, Southwest USA regional manager of direct sales and technical sales representative for Texas direct sales. Additionally, Clark was a business analyst and highway design engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation.

“An accomplished entrepreneur and seasoned executive, John brings detailed knowledge of business fundamentals and multi-sector technical expertise to the Altus team,” said Neil Vancans, CEO and president of Altus Positioning Systems.

“We see a lot of opportunity and potential for growth within North America, and I look forward to leading the sales team to increase Altus’ brand awareness and expansion in newly targeted market segments, specifically within law enforcement, seismic exploration, construction, civil engineering and GIS applications as well as the traditional surveying marketplace,” said Clark.

Clark earned a Master of Science in Management and Human Relations from Abilene Christian University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He is a registered Professional Civil Engineer.
