Plans for the 2012 Survey Summit in San Diego are under way. The first part of the event will be held July 21-22 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego and will include a plenary session, breakout sessions, a panel session, receptions and exhibits. The second part of the event will be held July 23-24 at the San Diego Convention Center in conjunction with the 2012 Esri International User Conference and will include the Esri UC Plenary, Map Gallery, survey track sessions at the Esri UC, special interest group meetings, and UC exhibits.

According to ACSM Executive Director Curt Sumner, LS, NSPS will not hold its business meetings during the Survey Summit but will still participate with Esri in sponsoring the Survey Summit. “While we are continuing to work through the issues of reorganizing our corporate entities, it is planned that the name ACSM will be used to promote our participation in the 2012 Survey Summit,” Sumner said.

NSPS will hold business meetings in the spring and fall of 2012. The locations for those meetings have not yet been confirmed.

Discounted room rates will be available at the Omni Hotel and nearby hotels for Survey Summit attendees. The Survey Summit website ( is expected to be updated soon with 2012 program information.
