Everyone who inquires about Traverse PC Desktop software asks about COGO (COordinate GeOmetry).

Everyone who inquires about Traverse PC Desktop software asks about COGO (COordinate GeOmetry). They want to know if it’s powerful and easy to use. Then when they see how TPC does COGO, they say, “WOW!”

We’ll show you why. You’ll find combinations of these features in all of the COGO routines in TPC. And you’ll find a COGO routine for just about everything you do.

What List

Expand the What list and select the part of the survey you want the COGO to affect. As you open views like the Point and Traverse managers, the What list changes to include the data you’ve selected in those views. The bottom line is that you ALWAYS know what data a COGO routine affects.

Predictive Point Recall

Start typing a point, and TPC lists all the points that match. Now recall the one you want.

Interactive Undo

Undo a COGO routine as many times as you need to. But that’s not even the best part. COGO changes show up immediately in the drawings and views so you can SEE what happened. If you got what you wanted, you can move on. If not, Undo and try it again.

Pick Buttons

If you have a drawing open, use the pick buttons to pick the data you want like bearings, distances, offsets, survey points and coordinates from the drawing. Pick buttons correspond to an item in the COGO dialog, so click the button then pick the data. TPC even extracts bearings and distances out of text objects. And picking is smart. Want a point? Click the point symbol, point label or the end of any line that uses that point and you’ll get the point you want.

Equations

You don’t need a calculator sitting around with TPC’s COGO because you can use an equation for any data field. Want the azimuth from point 10 to point 8? Enter 10..8. Or enter 10..8+90 to add 90o to it. And since equations work in the views too, you’ll start using them without even thinking about it.

Smart Open

Open any COGO dialog while you are working with data in a view, and TPC initiates the dialog with that data--saving you tons of time and making boring old COGO routines fun again. fontol:R p ick buttons to pick the data you want like bearings, distances, offsets, survey points and coordinates from the drawing. View, Summary, Plot and More

You’ll find lots of other COGO features like View (creates a temporary drawing to show you the COGO results), Summary (adds the COGO results to the current report), Plot (adds the points created by COGO to a special traverse that plots just the point symbol and label) and the options you need to updated existing points or create new ones.

WOW! Now that’s the way to do COGO.
