Prism pole point

Good evening,

I have a prism pole with a point that is stuck on. I found it while ago helping clean out a neighbor’s garage. The neighbor gave it to me.

I tried putting the pole in a vise and turning the point with a pipe wrench. I also soaked it in oil. The point will not budge.

I always remove the point when the pole is not in use to avoid corrosion setting in like this. I do not know how this point became so stuck. I guess it was in the damp garage for a long time.

I am thinking that heating the point with a plumber's torch is worth a try. Any other ideas?
