Woolpert, a nationally ranked design and engineering firm, was recently awarded the 2010 Oracle Spatial Excellence Partnership Award by the Oracle’s Spatial product organization. The award recognizes the company’s adoption and innovative use of the Oracle Spatial software in solving clients’ business issues.

Woolpert, a Gold level member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, has had a long-standing relationship with Oracle, and in recent years has adopted the Spatial technologies as an offering to their clients as a solution for their geospatial information system (GIS) needs. The product enables clients to store their GIS data directly in the database, eliminating the cost of separate, proprietary systems. It also serves as a middle-tier, or portal, for presenting the data that is stored in the database.

“Woolpert works closely with Oracle Spatial because its security, performance, scalability and advanced geospatial capabilities makes it a better way for our clients to store and use their GIS data,” said Jeff Lovin, senior vice president and director of geospatial services at Woolpert. “As a leader in geospatial technology, it’s important that we consistently offer our clients the best possible solution for their GIS needs. And, with the Spatial product, we do just that.”

Oracle recognized the award recipients at the Oracle Spatial User Conference on April 29 in Phoenix, Arizona.
