ATLANTA – AirSage, Inc. and Dewberry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on a new generation of products and services for the Emergency Management (EM) community including federal, state, local and private entities.
The companies will integrate population location and movement information from the AirSage WiSE platform into new and existing applications for emergency planning, preparedness, and response. The AirSage WiSE platform aggregates and analyzes wireless signaling data from mobile phones to securely and privately monitor the location and movement of populations in real-time, while maintaining complete user anonymity and privacy.
“Dewberry has consistently championed the use of technology to help agencies at the federal and state levels improve the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency management services” said Vice President Allen Groover. “AirSage data provides detailed insight about where people are and how they are moving, and this opens up game-changing, and potentially life-saving advances in emergency planning and response. We are looking forward to working with our clients to put these new ideas into practice.”
For example, AirSage data can provide an hour-by-hour view of typical population location, density, and traffic flow throughout a geographic area as key inputs to an evacuation planning model. In the days leading up to an expected emergency situation (for example, due to a weather event), the model can be updated via a live AirSage data feed for that region. Should an evacuation be required, AirSage’s real-time location and traffic data can be used to monitor compliance and highlight bottlenecks or trouble spots.
