Baton Rouge, Louisiana, January 20, 2010, SJB Group, LLC today announced that Mr. Stephen V. Estopinal, P.E., P.L.S. has joined the firm as Surveying Assistant Division Manager/ Senior Project Manager, reporting to Garner Morales, Vice President/ Surveying Division Manager. 

In his new role, Mr. Estopinal will support the Surveying Division Manager with the supervision, planning, quality control, and coordinating the direction of the division, in addition to survey (research, recovery, monumentation, documentation, linear and angular measurements, area and volume determination, geodetic position, and collection of other data) of private and public real property boundaries and parcels, for the purpose of exchange of title, resubdivision, engineering analysis, and other uses.   

Mr. Estopinal has a strong background in the analysis and design of residential and commercial developments including survey data collection, review and boundary determination, real property division as well as engineering design of roadways, drainage systems, sanitary sewers, water distribution system, street lighting systems, governmental permitting, and other engineering activities associated with real property development for both private developers as well as local governments and State of Louisiana  projects. Prior to re-locating to Baton Rouge from St. Bernard Parish in 2005, he had acquired over 30 years of experience in projects designed to accommodate the unique and every changing environment of coastal Louisiana and the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Prior to joining SJB Group, Mr. Estopinal was employed with CSRS, Inc. as Senior Land Surveyor Engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in 1969 from Louisiana State University.  He currently serves as a Commissioner for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority - East.  With over 38 years of experience as a Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor, Mr. Estopinal has been very involved in boundary research, modern development practices, continuing professional education and development.
