I wonder if any of you GIS guys have encountered this problem: after installation, the prgm keeps wanting to re-install.

During startup and wheneverI try to perform an action in ArcMap, etc, I get the same message:

"please wait while windows configures arcgis destop evaluation edition"

I have searched the Net and called ESRI but they all refer to Control Panel/Admin Tools/EventViewer/Applications to look for an entry for MsiInstaller logs, but none show up.

I also "Repaired" the install.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

PS: I also have ArcGIS Explorer installed, and every time I try to run Explorer after running Desktop, it tells me to Repair the install of Explorer, and then Explorer works.

Maybe I need to un-install Explorer? (I have no previous versions of Desktop or other ESRI (besides Explorer) installed.
