GITA's 2009 GIS for Oil & Gas Event Show Sees Outstanding Attendance

Aurora, Colo. - The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced the registration totals from the 18th Annual GIS for Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition, which was held at the Marriott Westchase Hotel in Houston, Texas, Sept. 13-17.

The conference attracted a total of 674 people, which is higher than 2006 attendee numbers and falls just short of record-breaking 2007 attendance numbers (the event was canceled in 2008 because of Hurricane Ike).

There were 26 technical sessions, which covered topics including everything from the basics of GIS in the oil and gas arena to gathering systems and one-call. The conference also featured five half-day seminars.

GITA is offering 15 recorded sessions from its 2009 GIS for Oil & Gas Conference.
