David H. Widmer, P.L.S., received his commission as NCEES Northeast Zone vice president during the farewell banquet at the organization’s 2009 Annual Meeting, held August 12–15 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was elected to the position by delegates from the Northeast Zone during their interim meeting in April. As vice president, Widmer will serve on the NCEES Board of Directors and as the zone’s administrative officer through 2011.

A resident of Rochester, Pennsylvania, Widmer has been a member of the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists since 1991. He served as the secretary/treasurer of the NCEES Northeast Zone from 2007 to 2009.

Widmer has been a licensed professional surveyor in Pennsylvania for almost 25 years. He is the president of consulting firm Widmer Engineering Inc.
