Mark Eric Jones, a Sokkia Corporation employee for more than 27 years, died August 14.

Jones was a service technician for high-end survey instruments who developed innovative testing equipment and programmed Sokkia’s service software. He also assisted in building the company’s U.S. service department.

Denny Welch, senior vice president of survey for Topcon Sokkia, said, “Mark epitomized the spirit and heart of Sokkia Corporation. His dedication to his profession and to the company he loved made the Sokkia service department the best in the industry.

“His kindness, his constantly looking for ways to help others, and his dedication and devotion to excellence can not be replaced. He was respected throughout the industry and he will be missed by the Sokkia family.”
