I was somewhat surprised the other evening to get an almost immediate reply to my online application for a work visa in Australia. Apparently some occupations are considered 'needed' and they do not fall under the normal rules for work visas. GIS is a very hot skill it seems.
So for long term, then what is the housing market like for a small pad in a fairly nice neighborhood?

I'm looking at coming shortly after the Oregon conference. I'm booked for two other engagements before that one but have no committments after the Oregon trip.
