GEOINT Video Interviews Feature Global Marketing Insights' Johnson and USDA's Tetrault

Washington DC – Online global agricultural assessment reports and the future of remote sensing in Africa were two of the key topics covered in video interviews with Global Marketing Insights, Inc. President, Dr. Shawana Johnson, and the Office of Global Analysis, USDA, Foreign Agricultural Service (OGA USDA FAS), Satellite Imagery Archive Manager, Robert Tetrault.

GISCafe Publisher, Sanjay Gangal conducted the interviews in the exhibit hall at the 2009 GEOINT Conference held in San Antonio, TX. The OGA USDA FAS was hosted by Dr. Johnson at GEOINT 2009 in the Global Marketing Insights, Inc. booth.

The OGA USDA FAS and Global Marketing Insights, Inc. announced the availability of more than 100 different Middle Eastern Crop Assessment Reports – including updates on the joint USDA NGA Iraq Operational Agricultural Monitoring Project and the new GEOINT Online website (www.geoint-online.net).

Details of the USDA NGA Iraq Operational Agricultural Monitoring Project, which has been expanded to include Afghanistan, Syria, Iran and many other worldwide food security analysis programs conducted by OGA USDA FAS, are presented in a graphical map-based format on the GEOINT Online site developed by Global Marketing Insights, Inc. USDA’s Tetrault discussed this joint project with NGA as well as the launch of GEOINT Online.

In a separate interview with GISCafe, Dr. Shawana Johnson discussed the results of the 2008 Africa Remote Sensing Market Study performed by Global Marketing Insights, Inc. at the request of USGS. This remote sensing market intelligence information contains technical, political and economic trends through 2018 that respondents indicated will have the greatest impact on remote sensing which can be downloaded at www.globalinsights.com. Johnson also described the development of the OGA USDA FAS GEOINT Online and her firm’s interaction with NGA to jointly accomplish launching their online community site.
