Towson Times- Whose property is it? Whose property should it be?

A number of residents on the north side of Stanmore Road in Rodgers Forge found questions like that reeling through their minds when they discovered surveyors' stakes in their backyards -- or what they thought were their backyards.

"I was shocked to see the stakes," said Jay Dunn, who has lived on Stanmore for 23 years.

He found out only later that Towson University had sent surveyors to mark its property lines along the border it shares with Rodgers Forge and its Stanmore Road properties.

The surveying was done in preparation for the new fence and landscaping the university was going to install, according to university spokeswoman Marina Cooper.
