Since we are to never, ever proportion except on the surface of Mars, what would you do in this scenario?
A placer mine in the mountains was "paper" subdivided into lots with no internal corners set. 40 years later you recover and re-establish the exterior corners and oh my gosh they don't match the record. You're hired to survey a few lots inside (with no occupation lines or corners to be found). Specific details withheld, how do YOU go about surveying your lots? Is it even really a re-survey since none of the lots were originally surveyed?
This is really similar to interior section subdivision lines that were really never set on the ground, but I'm just curious as to how the Lucas disciple would establish corners without proportioning when the record v. measured comes into play without any fence corners to flag up, call good and head for home.
