I have wondered about this for a while and thought I would find out, through this forum, if the right of way widths in California are absolute.
If a dedicated road is 40 feet wide, will it always be 40 feet wide until it is vacated or widened?
I have noticed that in some states this is not the case and that a road width can be a 40 foot +/- depending on what monuments are found along the frontage. It maye be 40 feet in width at one point, then can change to 40.8' wide at another.
Sounds chaotic to me, but I am from California so I guess that's pretty normal.
