Allen Precision Equipment Acquires Advanced Lasers and Instruments

Norcross, GA. - Allen Precision Equipment has entered into an agreement to acquire Advanced Lasers and Instruments.

Advanced Lasers, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a leading provider of machine control and surveying products for measuring professionals in Indiana, Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Technologies such as reference station networks, robotics, GPS and machine control systems are the core business of this market leading organization.

“Advanced Lasers will continue to operate as an independent company, but all operational infrastructure will be consolidated into Allen Precision Equipment (APE) in Duluth, Georgia, a member of the Leica Geosystems family. The acquisition of Advanced Lasers is part of our execution plan within Leica Geosystems’ overall NAFTA growth strategy. Even as there continues to be challenges in the economy this year, we will execute our growth strategy and invest in the precision measurement market space as specific opportunities arise,” says Ken Mooyman, President and CEO of Leica Geosystems, Inc.
